merrijig house

2004

The Merrijig House is sited on a rugged, windswept plain with sweeping views across the Victorian high country.

A simple series of gabled forms is layered between rammed earth walls which shield the house from the rigours of the weather, and create protected outdoor spaces.

The muted palette of rammed earth and weathered timber links the house to the silvered grasses of the surrounding landscape.
