A focus on high quality design and execution has been at the core of Sally’s career. She established Sally Draper Architects over ten years ago, developing it into a consistently successful practice and building on her experience as a director of Swaney Draper and work with some of the U.K.’s most respected architects. Sally’s work is held in high esteem by clients and peers alike.
Her design philosophy is founded in deep consideration and respect for each client and project. Unique and specific responses to the client’s programme, a response to the site that incorporates environmentally sustainable design principles, an economy of expression and an avoidance of formula or fashion are trademarks of her work. Her buildings are recognised as being elegant, calm and highly resolved.
Sally has a breadth of experience across project types with an exceptional track record in institutional projects, and a significant body of educational work. An interest in place and how people live has led her to develop a highly refined skillset as a residential designer, with several notable rural and coastal houses included in her body of work.
Sally is responsible for setting the design direction and standards on projects the practice undertakes. Her capabilities encompass every aspect of design and delivery including briefing, strategic analysis, design leadership, project oversight and client management. She also oversees the business and financial management of the firm.
Her projects have been highly awarded and published, and she has served the profession through her work on awards panels and teaching.
